The only issues being the overall runtime, which was close to 3 hours. Definitely not an original screenplay or story but GVM has come up with a clean family entertainer. Yennai Arindhaal is Ajith's best, performance wise and a career defining one for Arun Vijay. It is a typical GVM film with not many mass moments for the fans but still it keeps you entertained. Their one-on-one dialogues and the mind games will keep you glued to your seats. First half is a little slow and it takes ages to get into the plot, but once it does, the 2nd half races towards the finish line, with some stellar performances by Ajith & Arun Vijay. Though Yennai Arindhaal is a mix of few older films, its still a new experience. Beware! And the veteran Nasser as a caring broad minded parent will remind you of 'Father' Surya from Varanam Ayiram. Yennai Arindhaal is a story of a 13 year old boy and his journey called 'Life'. The film had huge expectations for obvious reasons and if you ask me if it lived up to the hype, I would say yes, with a trademark subtle GVM style smile.
